DISASTER DETECTION AND WARNING SYSTEM

COMPETITION PROCESS

We participated in the Codeavour 6.0 competition with our Disaster Detection and Warning System project. This artificial intelligence-supported system, which detects how many people are inside in case of fire, flood and earthquake, was developed with sensors and Arduino. With this project, which we won first place in Turkey, we are now preparing for the international final in Qatar.

WHAT HAVE WE DEVELOPED?

In this system, which we have developed to reduce the loss of life in disasters, we have created a solution that can be applied in real life by combining hardware, software, artificial intelligence and laser guidance technologies.

System Setup

Arduino, sensors, camera and laser modules were combined in an organized structure. The prototype was planned to be both practical in terms of portability and easy to show in presentations.

Integration

The components worked in full harmony. Data from sensors was interpreted by artificial intelligence, and when a disaster was detected, the system both sent notifications and activated laser guidance.

What have we learned?

We progressed in many technical areas such as coding, circuit connections, sensor tests, AI training and laser system integration. We gained great experience by carrying out the whole process with a team spirit.

WE PRODUCED BY LEARNING

Our project was a process where learning technology starts with developing a solution to a real problem. We gained hands-on knowledge on topics such as coding, sensor connection, laser system setup and artificial intelligence training.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

While building the system, we tested it many times, identified bugs and solved them. Each new problem taught us something. In this way, we have transformed our system into a more reliable, fast and effective routing structure.

SMALL IN AGE, BIG IN AMBITION

As 4th grade students, we learned to work with advanced technologies such as Arduino, artificial intelligence, and laser guidance. Building this system on our own gave us self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, and the courage to innovate.

SUPPORT GAVE US COURAGE

Our mentor teacher, our parents and our school have always supported us in this project. Such competitions offer great opportunities for children who want to grow up with technology and we made the most of this opportunity.
